The town of Dover, Tennessee, is governed by a Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and Aldermen. The Dover City Council meets the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Dover City Hall.

The town of Dover provides the following services of water, sewer, police, fire, and garbage pickup.

The property tax is 1.30 per $100 assessment in Dover.
